Puppini me

last night i watched the puppini sisters at KOKO. They were splendid and did lots of 3 part harmonies, and got changed on stage, sort of.

Afterwards i had a Mc Donalds, where i believe i actually coined the phrase Mc Worry.

As in, "after i eat at Mc Donalds, i get the Mc Worry."
pass it around.

in actuality i doubt i am the first person in Mc Donalds' 30 years history to say that out loud.

my residency starts in 10 days!

Insomnia = 80's movie catch up

I haven't really been sleeping recently, so i've taken to working my way through 80's films.

as follows:

1) My Step Mother Is An Alien

I used to love this film when i was 6.  You know you watch think about those films you love, then you watch them again and they're rubbish. This is that.

2) Three Men and A Baby.

Tom Selleck has a moustache in this. 

This is really famous scene because apparently you can see the ghost of a boy who killed himself on set in the background. Watch at 35 seconds.......looks JUST like a cardboard cut out.

3) Three Men and A Little Lady.

The much revered sequel to Three Men And A Baby. Tom Selleck has moustache in this too.

4) Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I watched this solely becuase Florence and the Machine made a joke about it. I probably watch this film 6 times a year. Any John Hughes film is good really.

5) Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Probably my favourite film ever.

Steve Martin is my god. Forget about all the shit he's made in the last 20 years in the 80's he was amazing. The Jerk, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Roxanne, The Man With 2 Brains

alessi/a prank phone call

Good morning.

This week i've been listening to lots of Alessi. Her voice is astonishing, it's so fragile. i would like to wrap up her voice in cotton wool and keep it in a match box in my back pocket.

Last night i received a prank phone call at midnight.

Here are some choice quotes from the conversation, i'm paraphrasing:

"Josh it's Laura" (i thought it was my pal Laura, it took me about 5 minute to realise it wasn't)

"You're so f**king quirky aren't you, in your little bow tie."

"Why don't you wear some trousers that fit, and wash your hair, and eat some food."

"I'm fingering my nose josh"

"I'm sitting on a round about, naked"

(there was lots of disgustingly perverse sex stuff i wouldn't really feel comfortable about sharing in internet land).
